About North Idaho
Often known as 'The Panhandle', North Idaho includes Benewah, Bonner, Boundary, Clearwater, Idaho, Kootenai, Latah, Lewis, Nez Perce, and Shoshone Counties. In the heart of the i-90 corridor and bordering Montana to the east, Washington to the west, and Canada to the North, this region is home to spectacular wildlife and scenery, rustic landscapes, sapphire lakes, thick forests and gorgeous mountain sunsets.
Featuring some of the most beautiful waterfronts in America, North Idaho is home to Lake Pend Orielle, Lake Coeur d’Alene and the Spokane and Pend Orielle Rivers. WeatherNorth Idaho is blessed with a true four-season climate that is much more moderate than that found farther east of the Rockies. . The average year-round temperature is 47 degrees and there is an average of 125 frost-free days each year. The North Idaho region is blessed with sunny days over 25% of the year.
Precipitation averages about 24 inches per year. Snow during November, December, January, February, and March averages 64 inches per year.
Business & EconomyFocusing mostly on the two major towns of Coeur d’Alene and Sandpoint, North Idaho is home to many flourishing industries and global businesses. Inexpensive and highly skilled labor is abundant, and many of the employers have been in business for generations.

Community Events & Things-to-doCoeur d’Alene & Sandpoint are known nation wide for their community events, and draw huge crowds into the North Idaho Region during the Spring and Summer Months.
Sandpoint Events:An annual summer concert series includes eight nights of concerts and incredible artists performing along Lake Pend Orielle. Past guest include Brandi Carlile, Josh Ritter, A Disney Symphantasy and Air Supply to name a few.
Only 11 Miles north of Sandpoint, this incredible mountain hosts events year round, and is known for its incredible winter events including: downhill skiing, cross country skiing, sleigh rides, snowshoeing and snowmobiling
Coeur d’Alene Events:Drawing crowds in the 30,000’s, the Ironman at Coeur d’Alene is a fast pace and incredible community event. With the race-track running through the heart of the city, there are opportunities to participate, volunteer or just enjoy this unique and world renown event. Located South of Sandpoint and just North of Coeur d’Alene, Silverwood is North Idaho's newest and largest theme park. Its steam train, plane and automobile collection, and airshows are now joined by amusement park rides including a log shoot, ferris wheel, and roller coaster (seasonal).
